Three surfers disappeared while on a trip in the Baja California region of Mexico. Brothers Jake and Callum Robinson, from Australia, and their friend Jack Carter Rhoad, from San Diego, were supposed to check in to an Airbnb in Ensenada on Sunday (April 28) but never showed up.

The last photo on their social media accounts shows they were in San Miguel Beach in Ensenada.

Officials have been searching their Instagram posts for clues and made a disturbing discovery. In one of the photos, a white Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck can be seen while they are on the beach in Rosarito. That same truck was found burnt out on Thursday by a rancher in Santo Tomás. When authorities checked the VIN on the truck, they discovered it belonged to one of the missing men.

They also found three abandoned tents south of Ensenada with blood stains.

Officials said they have made three arrests in connection with the case but have been unable to locate the three missing surfers. One of the suspects, a 23-year-old woman, was in possession of a cell phone belonging to one of the three missing men.

"At this moment, a team of investigators is in the location where it seems they were seen for the last time, where tents were found along with some evidence that could be related to these three people included in the investigation," María Elena Andrade Ramírez, Baja California's chief public prosecutor, said.

"We do not know what condition they are in," Andrade Ramírez added. "All lines of investigation are open at this time. We cannot rule anything out until we find them."
